Continuous
Armchair
This style originated in America in the 1770s
and was unique to New York and Philadelphia
chairmakers. English chairmakers copied the
style in the ensuing years. Called continuous
because the back and arms are one piece of
steam bent timber. Lovely to look at and very
comfortable.
Elm seat, all other parts ash. Clear finish. From £500 |
